Raja, a distributor of packaging and business equipment, has launched the construction of a new warehouse at its distribution centRE in Tongres, Belgium. The work, carried out by logistics real estate expert Prologis and programmed to start the activity in the first quarter of 2023, will expand the area of the centRE from 16.000 m² to 65.000 m². The warehouse will have a storage capacity of 25.000 pallets, which will facilitate the distribution of Raja in the Benelux, but also in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. "This expansion is necessary to support the important development of our company in Europe," says Gidi Pluym, Managing Director of Raja Benelux. “With this additional distribution centRE we can deliver all products and orders even better to our customers.”

An asset for local employment

The new warehouse has been developed in accordance with the rules of the eco design and will be equipped with LEDs, reinforced insulation, a heat pump, insulating and reflective glazing, and an energy saving mode for docks. Geographical location will create additional jobs in the region. The city of Tongeren is very pleased with this expansion," says Patrick Dewael, Mayor of Tongeren. Today, Raja already employs 220 people, more than half of them in our three warehouses.
