Award-winning excellence in logistics

Recently honored with the prestigious Logistics Building of the Year 2025 award, MG Park Malinas stands as a testament to pioneering design and operational efficiency. This recognition underscores its role as a leading example in the European industrial real estate sector, making it an ideal choice for businesses seeking top-tier logistical infrastructure.

State-of-the-art scale and design

Strategically located adjacent to Kellanova’s Pringles factory in Mechelen, MG Park Malinas serves as the company’s largest European logistics hub. The impressive facility spans 67,567 m² (including mezzanines) on a 124,202 m² plot, boasting a clear height of 15.20 meters. Its design incorporates four multifunctional units, offering flexible solutions for diverse operational needs.

A visionary transformation: from brownfield to beacon

One of MG Park Malinas' most remarkable achievements is its development on a former industrial brownfield site – the old Axalta paint factory. This ambitious project, which commenced in late 2022, involved extensive environmental remediation. It included complex asbestos removal (60 tons), demolition of 55,000 m² of structures, and the careful removal of 3,000 tons of stainless steel. Crucially, approximately 20,000 tons of polluted soil were treated, and 60,000 tons of concrete and bricks were crushed on-site for reuse, minimizing waste and environmental impact. This commitment to revitalizing industrial land offers a compelling narrative for businesses prioritizing responsible development.

Leading the way in sustainable logistics

Beyond its operational prowess, MG Park Malinas is a beacon of sustainability. The building is carbon neutral, demonstrating a deep commitment to environmental responsibility. It features one of Belgium’s largest photovoltaic installations, comprising 16,000 solar panels (9.5 MWp) that generate an impressive 8.5 GWh of green energy annually. Only materials with an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) were utilized in its construction, ensuring a low environmental footprint. The facility is also on track to achieve BREEAM Excellent certification by summer 2025, further solidifying its status as a leader in green logistics real estate.

Integrated technology for peak efficiency

To ensure unparalleled logistical efficiency, MG Park Malinas integrates several cutting-edge systems. These include an ANCRA system for pallet handling, Jungheinrich's Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) racking to optimize space and create nearly 100,000 pallet locations, and RFID technology for efficient tracking. A robust Warehouse Management System (WMS) streamlines process management, while the Peripass system automates truck dispatching. Enhanced safety is provided by Boplan safety barriers. This comprehensive technological ecosystem guarantees seamless operations, a significant advantage for any business aiming for peak performance.

A thriving work environment

The positive impact of MG Park Malinas extends to its workforce. With an absenteeism rate of just 5.13% in 2024, the facility suggests a highly positive and supportive working environment, contributing to increased productivity and employee satisfaction. This is a crucial factor for businesses looking to attract and retain talent.
