Five Strategic Logistics Locations to Expand WDP's Urban Distribution Network
The newly acquired sites, which offer a total lettable area of 25,000 m², are located in Antwerp, Namur, Wavre-Sainte-Catherine, Wevelgem, and Evergem. Four properties are leased long-term to Sligro, a leading supplier for foodservice professionals in the Benelux region. In contrast, the fifth is leased to Horeca Van Zon, a well-established Belgian family-owned company.
All leases are secured for a minimum term of ten years, ensuring a stable rental income and reinforcing the long-term value of WDP's logistics real estate portfolio.
Strengthening WDP's Position in Urban Logistics and Food Distribution
The sites, previously owned by Metro AG and acquired earlier this year by LCV Real Estate, align with WDP’s strategy to grow its footprint in urban food distribution hubs. Their strategic locations, near existing WDP warehouses, ensure optimal connectivity to Belgium's consumer markets and support the development of logistics clusters within the existing network.
Capital Increase Supports WDP’s Growth in Belgian Logistics Market
The transaction involved a contribution in kind in exchange for 1,468,380 new WDP shares, issued for €20.43 per share, resulting in a capital increase of €30 million. This strengthens WDP’s equity base and supports the company’s continued success in the Belgian logistics real estate market.
